The United Democratic Patriots Party (PUPD) reiterated on Tuesday its call for a boycott of the legislative elections to be held in December 2022. This was reported by the Tunis Afrique Presse agency (TAP/official ).
According to the party, the shortcomings and shortcomings that have marred the electoral process – in particular the extension of the deadlines for submitting candidacies – attest to the absence of minimum standards of transparency and integrity.
He considers that it is more than ever necessary to oppose the unilateral political process of President Kaïs Saïed, initiated with the aim of passing the dictates of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The party reaffirmed its determination to continue the fight against the choices of the President of the Republic and his government, declaring that it supports all social protests. And to call on his supporters to engage in the fight against the government’s repressive policies, according to TAP.
The Unified Party of Democratic Patriots is a Tunisian political party legalized on March 12, 2011, under the name Movement of Democratic Patriots. It was led by Chokri Belaïd until his assassination on February 6, 2013.
