Tunisia: The Ministry of Tourism Reaffirms the Importance of the Italian Market

The revival of tourist activity was on the menu of a meeting between the Minister of Tourism and Italian tourism professionals

The Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Mohamed Moez Belhassine spoke on Thursday with Italian tourism and travel professionals on “the revival of tourist activity towards the Tunisian destination, during the next season”.

This is what emerges from a press release published by the ministry and relayed by the official agency, Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP).

Italian tour operators and travel agencies Alpitour, Veratour, Valtur, Fruit Viaggi, Jumbo Tours, Sud Loisirs & Voyages, TTS and Eden Tours took part in the online meeting, TAP reported.

And to add that “these talks took place in the presence of representatives of professional structures of Tunisian tourism including the Tunisian Federation of Hotels (FTH), the Tunisian Federation of Tourist Restaurants (FTRT), the Interprofessional Federation of Tunisian Tourism and the National Union of the Hotel Industry”.

During this interview, the Minister recalled the importance of presenting “a health pass”, in order to be able to access tourist establishments, noting in this same context that “all employees in the tourist sector have been fully vaccinated”.

For their part, Italian professionals have expressed “their desire to relaunch their activity towards Tunisia given the strong demand for this destination and the improvement of the health situation in the country”.

“The recent revision of the conditions of entry to Tunisian territory will allow us to better plan trips to Tunisia,” they said.

Also according to TAP, “national tourism professionals have emphasized the importance of the Italian market, affirming their readiness to ensure the good start of the next tourist season”.
