The Independent Higher Authority for Elections (Isie) informs the public that, according to the second article of its decision n°23 of 2022 dated September 20, 2022, relating to the calendar of the legislative elections of December 17, the legislative electoral period began this Sunday, September 25 at midnight.
Isie indicates that throughout the electoral period, political advertising is prohibited in accordance with articles 3 (point 10), 57 and 154 of the electoral law, and that it is also prohibited to broadcast and publish the results in the media. opinion polls directly or indirectly linked to the elections, as well as related studies and press comments.
In accordance with articles 70, 156 and 172 of the electoral law, it is prohibited to advertise the allocation of a free telephone number in the media, an audio distributor, or a call center, to a candidate or to a political party, in the application of articles 58 and 152 of the electoral law.
The Isie warns that any violation of the aforementioned prohibitions exposes its author to the penalties and sanctions provided for by electoral law.
