The Minister of Economy, Finance and Investment Support, Ali Kooli affirmed on Wednesday Tunisia’s commitment to meet all the conditions favourable to the holding of the 3rd meeting of the Governing Council of the Program of Arab-African Trade Bridges ( AATB ). The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) is piloting the event. It will be held in Tunisia in early 2021.
Indeed, during a virtual meeting with the Executive Director of ITFC, Hani Salem Sonbol, the Minister expressed Tunisia’s willingness to support the implementation of this program, namely the Governance Council. As a reminder, the program was launched in 2017. And this with the aim of stimulating trade flows between the Arab and African regions.
Kooli also stressed the importance of the support given by the ITFC to Tunisia. He also expressed the need to further develop and diversify cooperation between the two parties.
For his part, the Executive Director of ITFC reiterated his institution’s commitment to support development in Tunisia. This is done by building the capacities of the various national institutions, especially in the face of the growing challenges related to the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On this occasion, a bonus agreement was signed between the two parties for the creation of a training centre within the National Center for Education Technologies under the Ministry of Education, with the objective of training nearly 2000 teachers and inspectors in the use of new technologies in the field of distance education.
