Tunisia: Kaïs Saïed Reiterates the Need to Open All Files Related to Customs Crimes

The President of the Republic of Tunisia, Kaïs Saïed, discussed a number of issues related to the means of combating customs crimes as soon as possible, during a meeting held Monday at the Carthage Palace, with the Ministers of the Interior, Taoufik Charfeddine and Finance, Sihem Boughdiri Nemsia and the Director General of Customs, Najet Jaouadi.

This is what emerges from a statement made public on the official Facebook page of the Presidency of the Republic and relayed by the Tunis Afrique Presse Agency (TAP/official).

Saïed stressed the need to deal with all files related to this type of business without exception, referring to “what happened and what is still happening in certain parts of the country”.

“These crimes destroyed the Tunisian economy and violated the rights of the people and of the State”, indicated the Head of State, referring to the files of 700 containers, belonging to a smuggling network, which was slow to be processed and brought to justice in addition to exchange records, we read from the same source.
