Tunisian exports of organic agricultural products reached, at the end of June 2024, 42,894 tonnes, worth 1,039.5 million dinars (MDT), indicates the vigilance bulletin of the National Observatory of Agriculture (Onagri) published on Friday, July 26, 2024.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, there was a decrease of 20.6% in terms of quantity, against an increase of 16% in terms of value, Onagri said, adding that Italy is the main destination with 42.51% followed by Spain and France with 25.02% and 12.31% respectively.
Organic exports mainly concentrate on olive oil and dates, followed by forest products.
During the 8 months of the 2023/2024 campaign, organic olive oil exports reached 35,308 tons worth 954.6 MDT with an average price of 27.04 DT/kg.
As for organic date exports, they reached 7,280 tons worth 80.8 MDT with an average price of 11.10 TND/kg (9 months of the 2023/2024 campaign).
