Tunisia Celebrates Arab Culinary Heritage

The Tunisian Federation of Tourist Restaurants (FTRT) is organizing the first edition of the Arab Culinary Days within the Cité de la Culture in Tunis, on February 1 and 2, 2023.

The event will be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, with the assistance of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, and Cultural Affairs, as well as the participation of the embassies of Arab countries accredited in Tunis and the governorate of Tunis. It aims to be a promotional action for Tunisian and Arab gastronomy, which contributes to the enhancement of this heritage considered as an essential lever of tourist attractiveness.

Beyond the aspect of the exhibition and discovery, these days will be marked, on the side of reflection, by the organization of a symposium on the Arab culinary heritage and entitled: “Wealth and diversity at the service of inter-Arab tourism”.

These days will also have a sequel. The FTRT will propose two projects: the creation of the Arab Union of Tourist Restaurants and the Safeguarding of Culinary Heritage and an Academy of Culinary Arts, two structures that could be put under the aegis of the Arab Tourism Organization based in Saudi Arabia whose president Bandar Ben Fahd Al-Fahid is expected in Tunis on the occasion of this festival.
