“The Tunisian subsidiary of ‘Yura’, a South Korean giant in the manufacturing of cables and automotive components, plans to create 6,000 jobs by 2026, according to a statement published Saturday by the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency.
Established in 2007 on a site of more than 3 hectares in the industrial zone of Kairouan 2, ‘Yura’ already employs more than 2000 people. Thanks to its three production units, this project contributes to strengthening the ecosystem of the manufacturing of automotive components, a strategic sector for the Tunisian economy.
Present in several countries (South Korea, China, Vietnam, Slovakia, Serbia, and Russia), ‘Yura’ is a world leader in its field, supplying in particular major car manufacturers such as Hyundai and Kia Motors.
Tunisia currently has more than 280 companies operating in the automotive components sector, employing more than 95,000 people and generating a turnover of more than 4.2 billion euros, or more than 16% of the country’s exports.”
