Tunisia and Algeria Prepare the High Joint Commission, and Work to Overcome Difficulties in Vital Sectors

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, met yesterday, Tuesday, September 12, at the ministry’s headquarters, with the Algerian Ambassador to Tunis, Azouz Baâlal.

The minister underlined “the depth of the fraternal and historical relations between Tunisia and Algeria, and the desire of the two countries to raise cooperation to the highest level”, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release.

The discussions focused on “the preparations for the Tunisian-Algerian mixed high commission which will be held, in its 22nd session, from October 2 to 4, 2023 in Algiers, surrounding it with all the attributes of success”.

They called “to surround this bilateral deadline with all the attributes of success, with a view to promoting bilateral cooperation, and overcoming difficulties in certain vital sectors, by working to guarantee intensive participation of economic actors from both countries, in the forum economic which will be held on the sidelines of this session”.

The meeting made it possible to examine the latest developments on the regional and international scene, in particular developments in the situation in Africa and the concordance of positions between the two brotherly countries.

The Algerian initiative to resolve the crisis in Niger by political and diplomatic means, with a view to guaranteeing stability and security on the continent, was discussed.
