Marcus Cornaro, the new European Union ambassador in Tunis, declared on Monday, November 30, 2020, the EU’s intention to support Tunisian tourism. According to him, the EU is ready to strengthen its partnership with Tunisia in the tourism sector, in particular cultural tourism.
During an interview with the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Habib Ammar, Marcus Cornaro indicated that “the EU is ready to help Tunisia to highlight and expose to the world the great cultural riches of Tunisia », Reports the TAP agency.
Habib Ammar greeted this initiative with fervor, believing that the exploitation of this niche will make it possible to promote the Tunisian destination and to attract a new category of tourists there.
According to him, “it is imperative to develop new mechanisms of bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector to extend to cultural tourism, given the importance of cultural wealth and existing archaeological sites in Tunisia”.
