Countries heavily dependent on the tourism sector have been severely impacted economically since the arrival of the covid-19 pandemic in the world.

This is the case for  Tunisia and Morocco. These two countries have recorded colossal losses due to the health crisis. Travel restrictions over the past two years have damaged the tourism sector in both Tunisia and Morocco.

The two countries have prepared to make the next summer season a success and thus relaunch their tourism sector.

Since the end of the Omicron wave, the world of travel has practically seen the end of covid 19. A boon for the tourism sector. From France, Tunisia and Morocco are among the most popular destinations both for tourists, but also for family trips.

Travel: Morocco launches Operation Marhaba 2022

In recent months, there has been an increasing interest in trips to Tunisia and Morocco.

The French tour operator  Bourse-des-vols.com confirms the good health of these slots. For the month of May, the president of Bourse des vols (BDV), Fabrice Dariot, notes “a high level of activity for Morocco (following the announcement of the end of health restrictions)”.

“Morocco is becoming BDV’s second medium-haul destination in research, but also in sales. Thus, Casablanca is now the 4th best-selling city,” explains the tour operator to VVA ( visa-algerie.com).

Morocco, which relaunched  Operation Marhaba on Sunday, June 5  after two years of suspension, is preparing to welcome millions of travelers this summer, between tourists and Moroccans residing abroad (MRE).

Travel from France: Tunisia does better than in 2019

For its part, Tunisia is achieving performances that certainly exceed expectations after two difficult years. Indeed, the Tunisia destination manages to do better than during the same period in 2019, the reference year before the health crisis.

“A strong recovery from Tunisia whose order book exceeds May 2019 (on sale). Thus, Tunis is the 2nd city in sales volume at BDV in medium-haul,” explains Fabrice Dariot.

Algeria is also a very popular destination from France, but much more in the register of family trips than tourists. At Air Algérie, “demand is strong despite prices that remain high,”  noted the same French tour operator in early June.
