The scientific committee recommended the opening of the borders and the resumption of flights in Algeria with restrictions, announces the Minister of Health, Abderrahmane Benbouzid.
Indeed, the Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, Abderrahmane Benbouzid, today went to Boufarik hospital on the occasion of Eid El Fitr on May 13, 2021. On the sidelines of this visit, the first person in charge of the health sector announced that the scientists of the Committee recommended the opening of the borders and the resumption of the flights “the scientific committee gave instructions to allow the Algerian and foreign nationals to be able to return in Algeria ”he declared.
The same source clarified that the entry will occur under certain conditions; : “Under strict conditions including a 36-hour PCR and tests will be carried out on their arrival” he added.
Opening of borders in Algeria: Antigenic tests at the arrival of each traveler
The Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform; also said that tests will be carried out at Algiers airport upon arrival of travelers ; “We will carry out medical examinations ourselves to the travelers, which we will consider authentic, in Algeria”. Before adding that “Travelers who can come to Algeria will have to have a negative antigen test. For positive cases, they will have to confine themselves in a hotel or other, for 10 days, at their expense ”
No further details on the date of entry into force of the Directive were provided. But this remains good news for Algerians who wish to return to Algeria after the border has been completely closed for more than a year.
Air Algeria flights are scheduled from France for this summer
As a reminder, flights of the national air carrier, Air Algérie , are displayed at Orly and Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airports in France. It intends to land on, not only at Algiers-Houari Boumédiène airport; but several others. Flights to Sétif, Tlemcen, Constantine, Annaba, Oran, Algiers and even Béjaïa are indeed on the menu at the start of the summer season.
Flights should take place on 13, 14, 15; June 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20. The week following these seems to be as busy as the one before it. Air Algérie is also planning other flights for June 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27.
