Algeria is moving towards exports and various Algerian products are concerned, in this case, medical and pharmaceutical products.
Its Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ali Aoun, received the Ambassador of Qatar in Algeria, Abdulaziz Ali Naama, to discuss the export of Algerian medicines and pharmaceutical products to Qatar.
According to a press release from the ministry, the meeting enabled the two parties to discuss the possibility and opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the field of the pharmaceutical industry. This is with the aim of developing the partnership and promoting the export of pharmaceutical products to Qatar.
In this context, the two parties have agreed to provide the Ministry of Public Health of the State of Qatar with a list of medicines manufactured in Algeria.
They also reviewed โthe investment potential in the pharmaceutical field in partnership between the two countries, through the construction of a pharmaceutical factory in Algeriaโ.
The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ali Aoun, indicated that the production of insulin will start in Algeria, on January 10.
Indeed, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, during the inspection visit of certain pharmaceutical institutions at the level of the industrial pole of Sidi Abdallah, in the wilaya of Algiers, Minister Aoun specified that the factory in Oued Smar in Algiers was ready for use for the production of insulin, but also that the actual production will start from January 10. By specifying this subject also work will be carried out to reach the coverage of 50% of the national needs.
