Tourism: Under what conditions can I join Tunisia?

Spending the summer in Tunisia is finally possible thanks to the latest easing of entry measures. But some conditions still have to be respected before going there. We will explain everything to you in detail.

Last week, Tunisia changed its conditions for entering its territory. The Tunisian government has announced that all travelers who have received two doses of the vaccine will be exempt from quarantine and PCR testing. The same rule applies to people who were infected with the coronavirus more than 6 weeks ago (on presentation of a medical certificate).

If this is not your case, the presentation of a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours is obligatory for those over twelve years old. After this process, you will have to sign a sworn statement to respect the self-containment measures for 7 days.

For its part, France only authorizes travel to Tunisia for compelling reasons , for the moment.

Once there

The Tunisian National Tourist Office (ONTT) insists on the strict application of health measures: the wearing of a compulsory mask, the curfew between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Cafes and restaurants can accommodate customers with only 30% of their capacity in closed spaces and 50% on the terrace.

Prolonged measures in Tunisia

In a press conference on Friday, June 4, government spokeswoman Hasna Ben Silane declared an extension of the application of health measures until June 27.

This extension of the health protocol aims to fight against the rate of positive tests still very high in the country. More than 1,576 new cases of coronavirus were detected on June 2. The situation remains very alarming in the country but the tourism sector in Tunisia is essential for the Tunisian economy which has suffered greatly since the start of this pandemic.
