Tunisia is participating in the 44th edition of the tourism professionals fair “IFTM Top Resa” (International and French travel market – Top Resa) which will be held from September 20 to 22, 2022, at the Parc des Expositions de la Porte de Versailles, in Paris.
A 100m² stand was set up by the Tunisian National Tourist Office (ONTT) in this show which welcomes each year, according to its organizers, more than 34,000 professionals, with the aim of promoting Tunisian tourism and putting forward its various products and services.
Thus, the management and promotion organizations (DMO) of the various Tunisian destinations; like Dahar, Djerba, Zaghouan and Mahdia will be honored on this stand, in order to promote alternative, ecological and sustainable tourism, according to the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism.
Some 200 destinations and 1,700 brands (tourist offices, airlines, hotel groups, tour operators, technology companies, start-ups, etc.) are represented at this show, which is a global meeting place for the tourism industry.
The Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Mohamed Moez Belhassine, who will lead the Tunisian delegation to this fair, will meet with tourism professionals, ministers and officials from countries representing potential markets for Tunisia and the president of the Syndicat des Tour Operating Companies (SETO).
A national strategy had been put in place to relaunch Tunisian tourism during the 2022-2024 period. The objective is to reach at the end of 2022, 50 to 60% of the rate of tourist activity recorded in 2019 and 80% of the indicators of 2019, during 2023, according to Belhassine.
This strategy provides for a return to normal tourism dynamics in 2024, provided that all the necessary means are gathered to diversify the offer and adapt it to the requirements after the coronavirus pandemic, the minister indicated during his meeting. a press conference held on September 12, 2022.
The National Tourism Strategy for 2035, meanwhile, will soon be announced, he added, saying that it will focus on sustainable tourism, the diversification of the national tourist offer and the enhancement of assets. and heritage in the regions.
About 4.1 million tourists visited Tunisia until September 10, 2022, an increase of 161.4% compared to 2021 and a difference of -38.1%, compared to 2019.
Tourist receipts stood at 2,662.7 million dinars until August 31, 2022, recording an increase of 82% compared to 2021 and a difference of -29.4% compared to 2019, according to the same source.
