Tunisia continues to be the favorite destination for French tourists. It occupied the 4th position before Turkey, Morocco and Egypt, in the ranking of the Top 20 tourist destinations in May 2022, carried out by the Barometer Orchestra on behalf of the French specialist magazine L’Echo touristique.
Tunisia thus regains its pre-crisis place in this barometer with the reopening of borders and the health lull and is ahead in this barometer of three European countries: Greece, Spain and Metropolitan France,
In its ranking, the barometer, which is based on the performance and sales made by travel agencies (offline and online), reported a 64% increase in sales in Tunisia in the “Business” category. and 21% in the “Average basket” category.
Overall, the volume of sales increased monthly by 46% in May 2022 compared to May 2019. Indeed, more than 800,000 French people visited Tunisia in 2019 among 2.7 million Europeans. This bodes well for a good summer season.
