Islamabad, July 20 /DNA/ – Ambassador of Algeria Brahim Romani met today with Senate Speaker Muhammad Sadiq Sanjharani at the Parliament building and discussed the bilateral and cordial relations between Pakistan and the Republic of Algeria.
During the exchange of views, Sanjrani said that Pakistan and Algeria have friendly relations as they share a common religion, cultural values , and friendly foreign policies. In addition, the emphasis on the need for cooperation in the current period was also discussed at the meeting. Noting that Pakistan attaches importance to relations with Algeria, he stressed the expansion of bilateral relations in the field of information technology.
The President, addressing the Ambassador, said Pakistan is confident in developing friendly bilateral relations based on mutual interests. He stressed that Pakistan is willing to further cooperate with the Algerian Republic on a broad canvas in various fields such as economy, politics and culture, and the development of public relations.
Sancharani pointed out that at a time of increasing global interdependence and connectivity, it is necessary to take necessary steps to change the trade patterns between the two states. It is important to tackle the existing obstacles to stimulate the economies of both countries.
The Senate Speaker asked the Ambassador to encourage Algerian investors to cooperate with Pakistan in various fields to create joint ventures to shape advanced economies in the 21st century.
The President advised the Senate to use parliamentary diplomacy as a tool to promote regional peace and harmony and make joint efforts to resolve issues that hinder development.
The President of the Senate underlined that parliamentary cooperation and institutionalized cooperation would contribute to improving interpersonal relations.
The visiting dignitary mentioned that Pakistan is an important country for us and for the region. Algerian Ambassador Brahim Romani stressed the need for institutional cooperation and proposed a first plan for the exchange of representatives in the sectors of activity.
The Ambassador invited the President of the Senate on behalf of the Presidents of the two Chambers of the Algerian Parliament to visit Algeria with a parliamentary delegation.
