Algeria Tunisia: The General Directorate of Customs has approved a number of facilities aimed at lightening and speeding up the procedures for processing and moving travelers after the reopening of the Algerian-Tunisian land borders.
According to the management press release, these new measures aim to ensure the best support for people wishing to travel to and from Tunisia during the coming period.
On the occasion of the 2022 summer season, and in accordance with the decision of the country’s high authorities to reopen the Algerian-Tunisian land borders, the General Directorate of Customs has approved a number of arrangements aimed at facilitating and accelerating procedures. taking care of travelers and providing them with the best escort, both on their arrival in the homeland and on their departure.
In this regard, the Directorate recalled the possibility of subscribing to a customs transit document for vehicles transiting through the Algerian-Tunisian land border posts through its website (www.douane.gov.dz).
The site allows – according to the statement – the possibility of downloading the declaration form for currency and valuables, filing claims, as well as viewing everything related to the traveler through a special corner on the front of the site.
As for customs formalities, the General Directorate of Customs affirmed “accelerating customs formalities, with priority given to a certain category of travelers. such as families, patients, the elderly, and people with special needs, without prejudice to the application of the control measures required in the framework of the repression of offenses committed in violation of the legislation and regulations that the customs administration is legally responsible for implementing.
On the other hand, the Directorate confirmed that it has made other communication channels available to travelers, such as the Customs Administration’s toll-free number (10.23) and its official pages via social networks.
