Spain finances €754 million for 40 modern trains in Morocco

Spain’s Council of Ministers recently approved a repayable loan to fund the purchase of 40 intercity trains for Morocco, under a €754 million agreement. The funding, provided by the Fund for the Internationalization of Spanish Companies (FIEM), will go to Morocco’s National Railway Office (ONCF). The project aims to modernize and expand Morocco’s railway infrastructure, improving mobility and connectivity between the country’s major cities.

This agreement highlights strong economic cooperation between the two nations, creating opportunities for Spanish railway companies while strengthening bilateral ties. It marks a key step in Spain’s strategy to support the global expansion of its businesses and solidify its role as a vital partner in Morocco’s infrastructure development. The initiative will boost economic growth in both countries and enhance trade, particularly in strategic sectors like transportation.
