ALGIERS- One shelter for terrorists and seven (07) homemade bombs were destroyed Thursday in Boumerdes by a detachment of the People’s National Army, in coordination with the services of the National Police, who also recovered one shotgun, said Friday a communiqué of the National Defence Ministry.
“As part of the fight against terrorism, a detachment of the People’s National Army discovered and destroyed, on 20 October 2016, in coordination with the services of the National Police of Boumerdes (1st Military Region), one (01) shelter for terrorists, seven (07) homemade bombs and one (01) shotgun,” said the communiqué.
Furthermore, as part of the fight against organized crime, the units of the border Guards of El Oued “seized a quantity of 1,000 litres of fuel for smuggling, while 14,619 units of different beverages were seized in Mascara, Ain Temouchent (2nd Military Region) and Biskra (4th Military Region),” said the source.
In Tamanrasset and In Guezzam (6th Military Region), detachments of the People’s National Army “arrested 13 smugglers and seized 12 metal detectors, 5 pneumatic drills, 3 generating sets, 7 all-terrain vehicles, 3 motorcycles and more than 1 tonne of a mixture of stones and gold,” added the communiqué.
