Seychelles 1st, Morocco 11th, Senegal… The Ranking of the Most “Powerful” Passports in 2024

Singaporean passport holders enjoy the world’s best travel facilities, with visa-free travel to 195 countries, according to the 2024 edition of the World Passport Rankings, released in late July by consultancy Henley & Partners, based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

In comparison, African countries are generally not as well positioned. Only Seychelles (156 countries) and Mauritius (150 countries) exceed the global average of 111 visa-free countries. South Africa (106 countries) ranks third on the continent.

Conversely, Somalia (35 countries), Libya (39 countries) and Eritrea (42 countries) bring up the rear. What about citizens of Morocco, Senegal ( 30th in Africa), Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of Congo or Algeria?
