Presidents Kaïs Saïed and Abdelmadjid Tebboune underlined during a meeting on Saturday in Algiers, the strong desire to continue coordination and consultation, to boost bilateral relations and raise them to the highest levels, to serve the common interests of the two brother peoples, the Presidency of the Republic announced in a press release on Sunday.
The Tunisian and Algerian heads of state, who met at the end of Saïed’s visit to Algeria, emphasized the importance of rooting a deep awareness of the common future and of enshrining the principles of solidarity, complementarity and mutual aid between the two countries.
The two presidents reviewed, on this occasion, the different aspects of the close cooperation and fruitful partnership existing between Tunisia and Algeria in many areas and welcomed the excellence of bilateral relations.
They agreed on the need to strengthen the pace of cooperation, notably through meetings of the Tunisian-Algerian High Joint Commission and the various mechanisms of bilateral action, in addition to the launch of joint projects in the border regions between the two countries as soon as possible.
The presidents again discussed several regional and international issues of common interest and first of all, support for the Palestinian people in their stoic resistance to iniquitous Zionist colonization.
President Saïd took part, as guest of honor, in the 7th Summit of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries -GECF- (from February 29 to March 2, 2024) in Algiers.
