Resumption of flights to Algeria: US CDC recommends

At a time when many are watching for the resumption of flights, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advise against traveling to Algeria and place the country at “an unknown level” in terms of managing Covid-19.

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to race across the world, hope has arrived in the form of several vaccines developed in record time. A health passport would thus allow vaccinated people to travel in several territories. However, and as part of an upcoming resumption of flights, some destinations are not recommended by the US CDC, including Algeria.

Indeed, the American Federal Agency bringing together the CDC, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, strongly advises American citizens not to travel to Algeria. She explains this by a risk of catching and spreading Covid-19. The same government agency explains the reason for its recommendation.

The United States takes Algeria to level 4 of insecurity

He says he formulated it with reference to a determining factor. This is, according to him, the lack of data on the health situation linked to the coronavirus in Algeria. Thus, the United States classifies Algeria at an โ€œunknownโ€ level. This classification relates to the management of Covid-19. The alert level has been reduced from 3 (reconsider travel) to 4 (do not travel).

The latter represents the maximum alert level. “Due to the current situation in Algeria, even vaccinated travelers are at risk.”This is what the CDC specifies. They too can be the object of contamination with the virus and its variants, as well as spread it. So that would be the case if we believe the CDC.

Consequently, even if the Algerian authorities decided to open the borders, Algeria may be on the blacklist of the USA. This is a very likely fate while waiting for the state of the country’s health facilities to provide more clarity, according to the vision of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
