According to the exit poll conducted by Sigma Conseil, the outgoing president Kais Saied is expected to win the presidential election on October 6, 2024, with more than 89% of the vote.
Hassen Zargouni, general director of the Sigma Conseil research and statistics office, presented the figures of the said survey on the national channel, specifying that Kaïs Saïed was re-elected with 89.2%, Ayachi Zammel obtained 6.9% of the votes, while Zouhair Maghzaoui obtained only 3.9% of the votes.
Following the announcement of these figures, many supporters of Kaïs Saïed gathered in different cities, notably in downtown Tunis, to celebrate the large victory announced by the Sigma Conseil poll.
For his part, Zouhair Maghzaoui, a candidate for the presidential election, organized a press briefing at his party headquarters to react to the poll conducted by Sigma. He questioned the figures presented by Hassen Zargouni on the national channel, stating that the data he has given a different result and that he is waiting for the official announcement of the Electoral Authority before saying more.
The campaign team of candidate Ayachi Zammel, for its part, stated that it did not recognize the results of the said poll, accusing Tunisian Television of having broken the law by broadcasting them, believing that this would influence public opinion.
Let us recall that according to Isie, the participation rate during the vote was 27.7% and that the official results of the presidential election are expected on Monday evening.
