Speaking after a government meeting on accompanying measures to ensure normal market supply during the holy month, Akhannouch stressed that some products will be subject to monitoring and control. particular.

The government will take firm measures in the event that an overrun is recorded, he warned, noting that the operation to control prices and their availability on the market is done on a continuous basis. Monitoring shows that there is price stability for some products, while others have been impacted by the international situation, Akhannouch noted.

In this regard, he said that the session was an opportunity to take stock of the measures supposed to guarantee a normal supply of the market during this month dear to Moroccans. In turn, the ministers concerned announced the sectoral measures taken for the success of the government’s framework plan.

For the Minister of Agriculture, Mohammad Sadiki, the market will be supplied with cereals, vegetables, legumes, milk, and products of animal origin, in particular red and white meats, eggs, and seafood. weeks, the prices of certain products is linked to a specific cause, he noted, insisting that monopoly and speculation cannot be tolerated.

Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour, meanwhile, stressed that all products that will be consumed during the month of Ramadan will be available on the market, saying that prices are carefully monitored so as not to impact the purchasing power of citizens.

Since January, a total of 65,000 control operations have been carried out, as well as 5,000 fines recorded on the markets. And control has been reinforced for products subject to speculation, the minister said, adding that the focus was on 3 or 4 products that have experienced a rise in prices and speculation. Everything will be put in place by the government to fight against speculation and preserve the purchasing power of citizens, he promised.
