Rally in Bobigny: New Damning Elements on the Death of Amar Slimani

More than two hundred people gathered today, Saturday, July 13, near the Bobigny courthouse in France, to pay tribute to Amar Slimani, an Algerian national killed by an off-duty police officer with his service weapon.

On-site, we can see an Algerian flag and a banner โ€œ Justice for Amar Sliman โ€ hung on the footbridge leading to the Bobigny judicial court in the Paris suburbs.

Elected officials were also present, including the new MP for the constituency Aly Diouara (NFP), and LFI MP Mathilde Panot.

The latter told us: โ€œI would like to assure all our support to the family of Amar Slimani, killed by seven bullets fired by a police officer. We are talking here about a racist murder, and I repeat, it is inconceivable that a man should die in such conditions in our Republic without justice being done.โ€

News regarding the investigation

As a reminder, on June 29, at around 6:30 a.m., a peace officer from the territorial traffic and road safety company (CTRCSR 93 pedestrian) shot seven times at Amar Slimani, who had entered his grandmother’s garage in Bobigny (Seine-Saint-Denis), according to Bobigny prosecutor ร‰ric Mathais.

Today, the victim’s brother and his relatives gave us some new details in this case.

According to the comments collected on-site by our journalist, Amar Slimani knew the police officer’s grandmother well and regular exchanges between them were reported.

He did various jobs to help her, and in exchange, she sometimes put him up in her garden, because he was in social difficulty.

According to their testimonies, the grandmother heard a noise in her garden and called her grandson. The latter arrived on the scene and shot Amar seven times, hitting him six times in the chest and back as Amar tried to flee, then once in the head.

The investigation is still ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy and establish responsibilities. The authorities continue to examine the evidence and collect testimonies to shed full light on this case.
