Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday that his country appreciated the balanced process of Algeria’s foreign policy, stressing that bilateral cooperation between the two countries was developing at a good pace and that Moscow intends to strengthen coordination with Algeria regarding current issues on the international and regional scenes.
In statements reported by the Russian news agency “Novosti”, during the ceremony of handing over letters of credence by new ambassadors, including the Algerian ambassador to Moscow,
President Putin indicated that “human relations between the two countries continue to expand”.
We appreciate, he said, the balanced foreign policy process of the Algerian leaders, especially since Algeria will occupy a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the period 2024-2025.”
“We will, naturally, strengthen coordination with our Algerian partners regarding current issues on the international and regional scenes,” he added.
On the economic side, Mr. Putin indicated that “Russian-Algerian commercial and economic cooperation was developing at a good pace, the volume of commercial exchanges between the two countries having exceeded two (02) billion USD.”
