The Free Destourian Party (PDL) has once again denounced ” the obstacles aimed at excluding its president Abir Moussi from the presidential election of October 6 ” and announced that party leaders will follow in her footsteps and begin a hunger strike.
In a press release published on the evening of Friday, August 2, 2024, the PDL considers that ” illegal measures are imposed by the Independent High Authority for Elections (Isie) to exclude Abir Moussi’s candidacy for the presidential election “, recalling that the Authority is also behind the prosecutions targeting her and launched based on decree 54.
The PDL also announced that the defense committee will still submit Abir Moussi’s candidacy file, despite missing documents, ” and this, intending to document the process of exclusion of which the president of the Detourian Party is a victim.”
On the other hand, and to denounce the aforementioned facts, the PDL announced that women leaders will go on hunger strike in solidarity with Abir Moussi, who has herself been on hunger strike since July 29, to ” claim her right as a citizen, woman, and party president to run in the presidential election on October 6 and to denounce obstacles to her candidacy.”
