This method is supposed to avoid hassle for Algerian nationals seeking to renew their passports, especially at this time of year marked by the approach of the summer season. A season synonymous with long holidays and which means for a good part of the Algerian diaspora a return to the country or scheduled trips to other destinations.

But the reality on the ground is quite different. To obtain an appointment online these days for the renewal of your Algerian passport in France, it is better to be patient. And for good reason, the majority of Algerian consulates in France offer dates, between the end of June and the beginning of July, which do not help the business of the applicants, knowing that the latter need their passports for the majority of them. before this period.
A problem that was raised by a deputy from the Algerian diaspora, in a message published Wednesday, April 20 on his Facebook page. “It is now an obstacle course to obtain your travel document before the summer holidays,” writes MP Abdelouahab Yagoubi. “Apart from four consulates, the situation is the same almost everywhere. To have an appointment to submit a passport application, some consulates offer slots at the end of June/beginning of July”, he specifies.
The deputy for emigration, who illustrated his message with a table showing the saturation of slots for a request for an appointment at the level of the various Algerian consulates in France, affirmed that he had contacted the Minister of Foreign Affairs by mail to ask him to “find urgent and adequate solutions by generalizing optimal organizational processes”, he explains.
