Parliament: Slovenian Assembly President Begins Visit to Algeria

At the invitation of the President of the National Assembly of the Republic, Brahim Boughali, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Urลกka Klakoฤar Zupanฤiฤ, began, this Friday, a three-day official visit to Algeria, as part of the consolidation of the distinguished relations between the two Parliaments.

According to a statement from the APN, Urลกka Klakoฤar Zupanฤiฤ was welcomed at Houari Boumediene International Airport by Brahim Boughali, in the presence of the Vice-President of the APN, Mounder Bouden, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and National Community Abroad, Mohamed Khouane and Maria Amraoui, Chairwoman of the Algeria-Slovenia Parliamentary Friendship Group. The Slovenian delegation also includes MPs Miroslav Gregori and Dejan Kaloh.

“This visit will be an opportunity to strengthen the excellent relations between the two countries, as well as an opportunity to discuss and review mechanisms to promote joint cooperation in various fields and to make further efforts to raise it to the level of good bilateral relations, and an opportunity for Ms. Urลกka Klakoฤar Zupanฤiฤ and the accompanying delegation to visit some of the archaeological, historical and cultural sites that our country has to offer,” the statement added.

During her stay in Algeria, Ms Zupanฤiฤ‡ will meet with the Speakers of both Houses of Parliament and hold several meetings with senior state officials.

Ms. Urลกka Klakoฤar Zupanฤiฤ is expected to have an audience with President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The Slovenian delegation will also meet with Minister of Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab and hold a meeting with senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad.
