Nourish Elbahr Ferries, a New Shipping Company was born in Algeria

In addition to the national company Algรฉrie Ferries and the French company Corsica Linea, a new passenger shipping company is entering the Algerian market: Nouris Elbahr Ferries, which has just been launched.

It was the Bejaia Port Company (EPB) that officially announced the launch of the activities of this new company, which will operate its crossings on the Bejaia-Marseille line with the Cracovia ferry, a large-capacity semi-cargo ship. “The Bejaia Port Company informs you of the official launch of the activities of Nouris Elbahr Ferries,” we can read in the EPB press release published on Facebook this Wednesday, August 7, specifying that it is a “new shipping company, now operational, offering crossings aboard its Cracovia ferry.”

The Cracovia, built in 2002, was acquired in 2017 by Polferries, the largest

Polish ferry operator. The ship was subsequently rebuilt in a

Polish shipyard. With a length of 180 m and a width of 24.30 m, it can accommodate up to 650 passengers, as well as a significant number of vehicles: 64 cars, approximately 98 long-distance trucks, and 26 short-distance trucks simultaneously. It has a service speed of 16.7 knots.

The Cracovia “meets the requirements of existing conventions, recommendations of the International Maritime Organization, as well as other navigation restrictions,” according to the website of the Polish operator, which owns the ship.
