The Commission met on Wednesday March 17, 2021 to study and assess the side effects relating to coagulation disorders and thromboembolic events in beneficiaries of the AstraZeneca vaccine used to develop immunity against the Covid-19 virus, indicates the ministry in a press release, adding that the members of the National Pharmacovigilance Advisory Commission unanimously confirmed that the benefits of the AstraZeneca vaccine outweigh the risks and that there is no proven direct link between these effects side effects and the use of this vaccine.

The Ministry of Health ensures that it is constantly monitoring the safety of the Covid-19 vaccine available in the kingdom by monitoring and analyzing cases of side effects, scientific evidence and data available on this subject at the national level. and international, in coordination with health and regulatory authorities. Citizens and health practitioners are invited to inform the National Center for Pharmacovigilance, via the online portal.

The ministry also assures that no deaths have been recorded among the beneficiaries of the AstraZeneca vaccine following complications related to the side effects of the vaccine. “Protecting the health of all citizens is one of its priorities and no effort will be spared.
