Morocco: The Palace Maintains the Vagueness on the Health of King Mohammed VI

In France since June 1, the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, has been announced positive for Coronavirus, in asymptomatic form. That’s what his doctor said.

While the sovereign has not given any news for more than two weeks, he is suffering from a highly contagious disease which forces him into isolation. It was therefore impossible to approach the king to inquire about the state of his health.

The King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, has contracted Covid-19, in an asymptomatic form. This is what the sovereign’s personal doctor said on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Professor Lahcen Belyamani, in a brief statement published by the official MAP news agency , said he had prescribed “a period of rest for a few days”. Days that the sovereign will have to spend away from the eyes of the closest personal, but also from any possible indiscretion.

The state of health of the 58-year-old king is arousing great interest among Moroccans. From Morocco as well as from the diaspora. Especially since the sovereign underwent a heart operation at the clinic of the royal palace in Rabat, in June 2020, after a first intervention of the same nature, in February 2018, in Paris. While announced in France, the King of Morocco has made no appearance. An absence in the streets and the French media, which opens the door to questions, in particular on the health of the leader.

After more than two weeks of silence, a rather evasive communication is made. The sovereign is suffering from Coronavirus. This disease appeared in Africa in 2020 and remains highly contagious. Patients are therefore placed in isolation and must avoid all contact to avoid rapid spread. As for the king, he would suffer from an asymptomatic form, but as we know, contagious. In other words, the king is isolated and will certainly not receive any visitors. What continue to maintain the vagueness on the state of health of the king.
