Khalid Ait Taleb, Minister of Health and Social Protection, was received by his Spanish counterpart, Carolina Darias, on August 23, 2022, in Madrid. The 2 ministers exchanged on several subjects of common interest related to their field.
The meeting between the Moroccan and Spanish Ministers of Health, in Madrid, took place in the presence of a large delegation, as well as the Moroccan Ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich. On this occasion, Khalid Ait Taleb and his counterpart Carolina Darias expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation between the various services of their departments, in the direction of the new and unprecedented dynamic of relations between the 2 kingdoms.
In practice, this cooperation will take the form of partnerships relating to drug policy, which now relates to health sovereignty, as well as in the fields of social security and disaster management. In addition, there is the improvement of health services through initial and continuing training, the exchange of experiences, scientific research, and the use of new technologies in the medical field.
Khalid Ait Taleb noted that in the application of the High Royal Guidelines, Morocco seeks to develop its relations with Spain in the various areas of the health sector. For her part, the Spanish minister spoke of the long-standing brotherhood between the two countries, while welcoming the remarkable management of the Covid-19 pandemic by the Cherifian kingdom. Still in this momentum of strengthening cooperation, Carolina Darias will soon make a working visit to Rabat.
It should be noted that the 2 ministers hailed the strategic importance of relations between Morocco and Spain, stemming from the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and HM King Felipe VI.
