Popular demonstrations took place in several Moroccan cities, denouncing the Israeli bombing of the Al-Mawasi displaced persons camp, which left hundreds dead and injured.
In the northern city of Meknes, hundreds of Moroccans took part in a demonstration at the invitation of the Moroccan Front for Support of Palestine (NGO) and denounced the continued targeting of defenseless civilians.
Participants held Palestinian flags and banners reading: โStop the genocideโ and โStop the aggression against Gaza.โ
They also held up pictures showing the scale of the destruction and killings in Gaza and chanted slogans such as: โGaza, Gaza is a symbol of prideโ and โNo to normalization.โ
The protesters denounced “the participation of Western countries in this war, by supporting and arming Tel Aviv.”
Several cities also saw demonstrations denouncing the Israeli bombings on the Al-Mawasi area, including Fez, Marrakech, Youssoufia, Azrou (north) and Oujda (northeast).
At an almost daily rate since the start of the war in Gaza, many Moroccan cities have witnessed massive popular demonstrations in solidarity with the Palestinian people, particularly, to end the Israeli occupation and establish the Palestinian state with occupied East Jerusalem as its capital.
On Saturday, the Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll from the massacre committed by the Israeli army in the Al-Mawasi area had risen to 90 dead and 350 injured.
The war waged by Israel on Gaza with US support since October 7 last year has left nearly 127,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children.
Tel Aviv continues this war, ignoring UN Security Council resolutions to end it immediately, as well as orders from the International Court of Justice to end the invasion of the southern Gaza city of Rafah and to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
