The Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE) took part, as an official partner, in the International Automobile Congress “Automobilwoche” which took place in Berlin on 25 and 26 October.
In this regard, a large Moroccan delegation, chaired by Mohcine Jazouli, Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, accompanied by the Director General of AMDIE, Ali Seddiki, visited to this major congress, the number 1 platform for meetings of decision-makers and players in the automotive industry from all over the world.
Focus on the energy potential of Morocco
Mohcine Jazouli recalled that Morocco has been able to transform the major challenges facing the world today into opportunities to attract investment. “This is how the Kingdom has wisely positioned itself today at the center of the new global map of value chain relocations and decarbonization,” he said.
In terms of sustainability, the Minister Delegate noted that the Kingdom was “among the world leaders in renewable energies, with one of the largest solar power plants in the world”. A total of 52 large-scale renewable projects have been implemented so far and another 59 are in development, he said.
“The enlightened vision of our Sovereign has made it possible to anticipate very early on the transformations that most countries in the world are experiencing today”, pointed out the Minister.
The need for green and carbon-free energy has become “crucial, even vital” for many industries, the minister stressed. The Kingdom is now able to supply this energy at some of the most competitive costs in the world.
According to him, Morocco is one of the very few countries in the world where green energy is cheaper than fossil fuel. “This unique combination allows us to offer our partners carbon-free, constant, competitive and above all stable green energy,” he continued .
An unmissable event for players in the automotive industry
Moroccan participation in this congress was also marked by the holding of round tables and the organization of a series of business meetings and B2B appointments between the Moroccan delegation and German operators.
This congress, which was held on October 25 and 26 in Berlin, was marked by the presence of an audience of distinguished personalities from the automotive industry, in particular Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis; Matt Harrison, President and CEO of Toyota Motors Europe; Clotilde Delbos, Deputy CEO of Groupe Renault; and Murat Aksel, Volkswagen Group Purchasing Director.
Since 2015, AMDIE has been heavily involved in each of its participation in the Automobilwoche congresses.
