As part of the summer season, particularly for Operation Marhaba, the Moroccan airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) expects a recovery of up to 90% compared to 2019, before the health crisis.
After two years of suspension due to covid-19, the Moroccan authorities launched Operation Marhaba 2022 on Sunday, June 5. In this wake, the CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Hamid Addou, returned to the programs planned by the Moroccan airline.
Speaking on Wednesday at a conference organized on the occasion of the launch of Operation Marhaba, he said that “RAM has reinforced its flight program for the summer season, offering 6 million seats on 80 air routes across four continents,โ Le 360 โโreported Wednesday.
Royal Air Maroc has restored the routes closed during the coronavirus health crisis and opened new routes. Moreover, the program developed should cover nearly โ 90% of the network covered by RAM in 2019โ, underlines the same manager.
Flights France โ Morocco: RAM operates 400 flights per week on 28 routes
In detail, the CEO of RAM specified that the company will provide more than 2.2 million seats on the European continent, which represents a strong presence of the Moroccan community. This is “437 frequencies per week will connect 9 Moroccan airports to 32 airports on the European continent”.
From France, no less than 890,000 seats will be provided with “400 flights per week on 28 air routes” between 9 French airports and eight Moroccan cities. 1.3 million seats will be distributed between the other European countries, and this, with โ43 air routes between 22 European airports and 8 Moroccan citiesโ.
In North America, RAM mobilized 500,000 seats this summer. Indeed, the speaker indicated that 35 weekly frequencies will be provided โon the four air routes linking Casablanca to New York, Washington, Montreal and Miamiโ.
RAM marks its return to Africa and the Middle East
On the African continent, Hamid Addou pointed out that the company’s network will increase during the same period to 25 lines providing a total of 900,000 seats. No less than 110 frequencies will be provided per week, he added.
In addition, Royal Air Maroc plans to offer 200,000 seats from the Middle East this summer, which represents an increase of 25% compared to the 2019 offer. โ17 frequencies will be scheduled on the six routes between Casablanca and Jeddah, Riyadh, Medina, Cairo, Tel Aviv, and Dubaiโ.
In view of the demand which greatly exceeds the supply, the Moroccan carrier has decided to charter “planes from internationally renowned companies”, further underlined by the first manager of RAM.
