A delegation of ten Moroccan entrepreneurs embarked on a week-long business mission to Quebec on Monday, seeking to explore collaboration opportunities and expand their operations. The visit, organized jointly by the Quebec Employers Council (QEC) and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), aims to strengthen economic ties between the two regions.
Led by CGEM President Chakib Alj, the Moroccan delegation will meet with key economic players and tour renowned companies in sectors such as aerospace, agri-food, and artificial intelligence. The mission follows an agreement signed in Casablanca last May between the QEC and CGEM to foster closer business relationships.
โIn terms of trade relations between Quebec and Morocco, we are still far from reaching our full potential,โ said Karl Blackburn, President and CEO of the QEC. โThe enthusiasm of these Moroccan entrepreneurs demonstrates a shared desire to move things forward and increase our exchanges.โ
The delegation will visit facilities of Bombardier, the Port of Quebec, and Optel, as well as make a stop in Sherbrooke to explore the quantum zone. Karl Blackburn and Daniรจle Henkel, Economic Francophonie Ambassador for the QEC, will accompany the entrepreneurs, who hail from various sectors including finance, chemistry, agri-food, and services.
The QEC plans to reciprocate the visit in 2025 to continue advancing economic cooperation initiatives.
