With the arrival of 13.2 million vacationers until the end of November and therefore over a total of 11 months, the record of 2019, when a total of 12.9 million tourists arrived, was largely exceeded.
It is the Ministry of Tourism that communicates the data, which surprises the operators themselves. The September earthquake and then the war in the Gaza Strip raised fears of the worst. The results are even more flattering than the previous year: compared to the same period of the 2022 financial year, the increase in arrivals amounts to 36%.
In November 2023, around one million tourists arrived in Morocco, an increase of 9% compared to November 2022.
This positive dynamic testifies to the effectiveness of the promotional and aerial actions implemented by Morocco, as well as its growing attractiveness as a popular tourist destination, according to the press release from the Ministry of Tourism.
“We are delighted with these exceptional results, which encourage and motivate us even more to continue the work started with all the players in the sector. The start of the implementation of the Tourism Roadmap 2023-2026 is bearing fruit, and we are on track to exceed the target of 14 million tourists by the end of December 2023”, commented Fatima-Zahra Ammor, Moroccan Minister of Tourism.
