A large quantity of cocaine was seized on board a foreign vessel that had been arrested on Saturday off “Cape Spartel” in northern Morocco.
It all started with the call of the Asian captain of a Portuguese freight ship, reports Hespress. He expressed his suspicions about the contents of a container on board the ship. The rapid intervention of the Moroccan coast guard made it possible to arrest the ship and force it to dock.
In addition, a more in-depth search was carried out on instructions from the prosecution and revealed additional quantities of drugs. No information has yet been released on the amount of cocaine seized.
Departing from Brazil, the ship was due to stop at a Dutch port before docking in Germany with the container full of drugs.
