Morocco and Liberia signed on Monday in Rabat three cooperation agreements in the fields of agriculture, health and higher education, it was announced in Rabat.
Signed by Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Liberian counterpart Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, these agreements are in addition to nine other agreements signed during the meeting of the joint commission, the Moroccan foreign ministry said.
During a joint press briefing with his Liberian counterpart, Mr. Bourita indicated that Mr. Saah Kemayah’s first visit to Morocco is part of the distinguished relations between the two countries, stressing that these reports have known positive developments in recent years, as evidenced by the holding of the joint commission in 2019 and the signing of a series of agreements.
He further indicated that he has agreed with his Liberian counterpart to further develop bilateral relations, in particular through a mission for sectoral cooperation which will soon visit Monrovia, adding that it was also agreed to prepare the next session of the joint committee.
The quality of exchanges between Morocco and Liberia reflects the excellence of bilateral relations, the minister added, stressing that cooperation between the two countries is part of a roadmap with well-defined outlines.
Morocco plans to deepen this exceptional relationship within the framework of the “Liberia Vision 2030” recovery program, noting that the Kingdom will work to facilitate the obtaining of visas for Liberian citizens and to participate in the upgrading basic electrical installations in Liberia.
Mr. Bourita called for expanding the legal framework for bilateral cooperation between the two parties, in particular in the areas of hydro-agricultural development, drinking water, infrastructure, energy and marine fishing. .
