Morocco and Italy Sign a Strategic Partnership Implementation Plan

The Moroccan Foreign Minister signed the plan during a visit to Rome at the invitation of his Italian counterpart.

Morocco and Italy signed, on Wednesday, an action plan to implement the strategic partnership between the two countries, covering several areas.

This was part of Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita’s working visit to Italy at the invitation of his counterpart, Antonio Tajani, for an indefinite period, according to the Moroccan news agency (MAP). .

The action plan includes several areas, including “political and diplomatic dialogue, security cooperation, justice, as well as economic and energy cooperation and sustainable development”.

It also includes “cultural and academic cooperation, the field of research and development, dialogue between cultures and religions, as well as cooperation in the field of immigration and consular affairs, in addition to the creation of a partnership council at the level of foreign ministers.”

According to the agency, “the council will meet annually and alternately between Rabat and Rome, in order to identify priority areas of cooperation and adopt recommendations, as well as to strengthen cooperation for the following year”.

As for the commissions, “they will be set up at the level of senior officials, who will meet with the aim of ensuring the follow-up and implementation of the recommendations of the Association Council”, specifies the agency.
