Libyan Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush was suspended from her duties on Saturday and subjected to a travel ban, a spokeswoman for the Presidential Council told several media.
The presidency has opened an investigation “for administrative violations,” spokeswoman Najla Weheba told Libya Panorama on Saturday.
According to the online media El-Marsad, close to General Haftar, a strong man in eastern Libya, she would have taken foreign policy decisions without having consulted the Presidential Council (PC). According to a decree signed by the Presidential Council and picked up by the media, “a commission of inquiry has been set up chaired by Abdallah Allafi, vice-president of the CP”.
She must submit her report within 14 days at the latest. The suspension and travel ban decided against Najla Al-Mangoush comes a few days before the holding in Paris of an international conference on Libya.
