Le Drian visits Morocco this Sunday

The French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean Yves Le Drian, begins a two-day visit to Morocco this Sunday, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, announced the Quai d’Orsay.

During this trip, the head of French diplomacy will meet the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita in order to “discuss the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, including in matters of the fight against irregular immigration, and regional and international issues, โ€said the spokesperson for the Quai d’Orsay.

During this visit, the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs will visit the Mohammed VI Institute for the training of Morchidin and Morchidate imams in Rabat, created in 2015 by HM King Mohammed VI. “The minister will continue the work of explanation and appeasement initiated by the President of the Republic,” said the spokesperson.

The French Minister of Foreign Affairs will then go to the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, where he will sign a support agreement from the French Development Agency to the Moroccan Federation of Museums.

Finally, Mr. Jean-Yves Le Drian will visit the Lycรฉe Descartes where an exchange will be organized, by videoconference, with all the principals of the 44 French schools in Morocco which, with 44,000 students, form the second-largest French educational network in the world, concludes the spokesperson for the Quai d’Orsay.
