The project is part of the diversification of the company’s investments aimed at setting up a new industry on the national market.
“The National Company of Electronic Industries (ENIE), located in Sidi Bl-Abbès, will launch “soon” in the manufacture of components necessary for solar stations in partnership with the Italian company “Fimer”, according to its CEO, Abbes Makmene. Focused on the objective of launching a new industry in the field of renewable energies, Algeria and Italy are in the process of concretizing one of the first projects in this field.
The project revolves around the manufacture of inverters, switching units for solar power plants and control instruments for the photovoltaic energy industry. A partnership that promises to be very profitable for Algeria, insofar as the manufacture of these components will intervene directly in the realization of energy transition projects. The objective of achieving a production volume of 1000MW per year until 2035, being the rhythm assigned to this strategy, the local manufacture of components for solar power plants, is undoubtedly a major step forward for the development of renewable energies. Especially since this partnership aims to achieve an integration rate of 50% in the 5th year. And this in addition to the many financial and economic repercussions that flow from its wake. In addition to the significant savings that will be made in terms of imports, this realization reflects the changes generated by the deep reform actions, the application of new measures and facilitations, and in particular the undeniable improvement of the business climate in Algeria.
The CEO of ENIE underlined in this sense, that “this project is part of the diversification of the company’s investments aimed at setting up a new industry on the national market which will take care of the manufacture of components needed for solar stations”.
Equally important, the signing of such cooperation contracts conveys a new image of Algeria’s attractiveness.
An image of recovery in macroeconomic indicators, insurance for investors, and above all the outlook for performance and gain for both parties. It is precisely this level of economic exchange that will help to strengthen the new mechanisms put in place for economic recovery. These are now visible through the large volume of contracts, agreements and cooperation memorandums signed during this year. That said, it is clear that much remains to be done in this area, which has experienced many delays. It is in this perspective that this launch presents itself as a break with a long period of latency and reports on achievements. It is a new starting point, which will bring into play the efficiency and strength of
Added to this are multiple positive impacts, as the CEO of Enie points out, specifying that “the two partners have also set themselves other objectives such as staff training, the transfer of know-how, the development of skills in leading international business management, local production according to international standards and the creation of more than 300 direct jobs and 1,400 others indirectly”. In detail, it is planned to manufacture a wide range of inverters, Scada systems, PPCs, storage units, advanced conversion units for large solar power plants and their accessories.,
