ORAN-The 5th International Food Processing Industry Fair “Mentouj bladi” (SIAG) has opened Thursday in Oran with the participation of 200 exhibitors.
The exhibition aims to promote the Algerian label in order to reduce the import bill of food products and to support to Algerian companies and professionals in their efforts to export, especially as Algeria seeks to boost economic and trade relations with Africa.
Mahmoud Hani stressed this event attracted foreign companies and contributed to engage in relations with other partners with a view to improving quality and making the Algerian label pioneer in the Arab and global markets.
Held by “Expo line” agency, this exhibition is a space for meeting and bringing together different actors in the agri-food field with a view to establishing an economic and commercial base to extend the Algerian market, which seeks openness and new technologies.
Many countries take part in this event including Turkey, France, Italy, Spain, South Korea, China and Tunisia with various agrifood products, like drinks, coffee, chocolate, pasta and equipment for restaurant.
A scientific and leisure program has been developed on this occasion including conferences and meetings for Algerian companies seeking to export, as well as culinary competitions.
Three contracts will be inked between Algerian and foreign exhibitors including one with a Turkish Company for the manufacturing of food packaging equipment, which partakes for the first time in Algeria in the SIAG, said Hani.
The fair, which will until next Sunday, is expected to attract 10,000 visitors.
