Present today, Monday, December 13 at the Palais des Expositions, in the capital Algiers, the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Aimene Benabderrahmane, kicked off the 29th edition of the Algerian Production Fair.
At the heart of the Prime Minister’s statements on industrial revival lies the military industry.
Aimene Benabderrahmane proceeded today Monday, at the Palais des Expositions (Pins-Maritimes) in Algiers, to the inauguration of the 29th edition of the Algerian Production Fair. This edition is placed under the slogan “Strategy, creativity and efficiency: keys to economic development and access to foreign markets”.
Military industry: “A locomotive for the rest of the industries”
The Prime Minister notably said during the inauguration ceremony that “the military industry will be a locomotive for the rest of the industries”. This statement, made today by Benabderrahmane, places the military industry at the heart of industrial revival.
It should be recalled that the DND announced, last May, that it intends to involve private-public enterprises, including start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the military metal industries.
Benabderrahmane added that “we must give the chance to young executives freshly graduated from institutes, schools and universities, and integrate them into the military vehicle industry”.
The Prime Minister’s Ordinance joins again a statement made a few weeks ago by the Director of Military Fabrications at the Ministry of National Defense, Major General Salim Grid, who announced that “the ANP is working to promote mechanical industries and to implement the industrial integration strategy, by integrating private and public companies, including start-ups and SMEs”.
Regarding the automotive sector, the Prime Minister indicated that “the integration rate must reach 35% within 36 months at the level of public enterprises in the automotive industry”.
