French retirees in Morocco are invited to validate the life certificate which is necessary to receive their retirement pension via biometric recognition of their phone.
The Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension scheme recalls the new solution offered to French retirees abroad for the annual verification of their existence with the implementation of a biometric recognition system. Nearly 1.2 million policyholders residing abroad must each year prove their existence to all French schemes that pay them a pension by validating their life certificate. Previously, several ways of carrying out this process were offered to them: by mail, online with the My Retirement Abroad service, or even without any particular procedure thanks to the automatic exchange of civil status data between France and a certain number of of countries.
Today, this process is carried out using a biometric recognition system via the secure application My Certificate of life which allows policyholders to validate their certificate of life without having to go to a diplomatic and consular post or a local authority, reminds Agirc-Arrco since July 2023. Its use is quick and free for users.
In order to use the new biometric authentication solution, it is necessary to have a smartphone (IOS version equal to or greater than 14.3 or an Android version equal to or greater than 9) and a compatible identity document: passport or identity card issued by a European state (except for exceptions), Algeria or Morocco. The insured receives a QR code by mail or e-mail from the pension plans, and installs the โMy Life Certificateโ application on a smartphone. He then photographs the identity document and follows the instructions to validate the life certificate and download it. Once validated, the document is automatically transmitted to the pension plan of the insured person, without any further sending to be made (no sending, either by e-mail or by post).
If the life certificate is not validated or the insured does not wish to use the biometric option, he must use the form received by mail or download it to his retirement account, in the My Retirement Abroad service. , then have it completed by a competent local authority and returned, it is specified.
