Halid Al-Jaber in Algeria: A New Adventure Begins for the Qatari Explorer

Algeria, a destination that has long remained in the shadow of its neighbors, Morocco and Tunisia. Today, the country is attracting more and more interest from the most seasoned adventurers. This is the example of the Qatari explorer, Khalid Al-Jaber, who is preparing to embark on a new adventure.

As a reminder, Khalid Al-Jaber already visited Algeria three years ago, with the sole objective of seeing Tassili N’ajjer up close, an adventure that lasted more than four months and nearly 20,000 kilometers. The explorer returns to the country for a new adventure.

“High Plateaus Itinerary”: Khalid Al-Jaber will travel through 17 wilayas by motorbike

The kick-off of this new adventure was given on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Mokhtar Didouche, at the esplanade of the Grande Poste in Algiers, to allow Khalid Al-Jaber to take his first steps in Algeria.

In this new adventure, called “Itinerary of the High Plateaus“, Khalid Al-Jaber plans to travel through 17 wilayas by motorbike. The expedition, which will continue until November 18, 2024, will start from Algiers. The Qatari explorer will take the road to Tlemcen and then go to Naâma, El Bayadh, Laghouat, passing through other interior wilayas, such as Souk Ahras, Biskra and Oum El Bouaghi, and will end his journey in the wilaya of El Oued.

This adventure is also part of the cooperation between the two countries and the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism to promote Algeria as a destination.

Who is Khalid Al-Jaber?

Born in Egypt, Khalid Al-Jaber began his journey around the world at a young age, thanks in part to his father’s work as a diplomat. A graduate of the American University of Richmond, he specialized in computer science and information systems.

After many years working in his own film production company, Khalid Al-Djaber decided to start his motorbike and embark on a journey around the world.

His first challenge was to travel from Qatar to Muscat, via Dubai, to the Rub Al-Khali desert in just five days, in the middle of July. Today, he has several trips under his belt. In addition to climbing Tassili N’ajjer, the Qatari explorer has already travelled from London to Morocco, travelled the Himalayas and reached Argentina from Alaska.
