Green Hydrogen: Tunisia Signs 6 Agreements with International Leaders

Tunisia has just concluded six memoranda of understanding for the production of green hydrogen, with several international companies.

The companies concerned are the British and Maltese holding company “TUNUR”, the Norwegian company “AKER Horizons”, the Austrian group “Verbund”, “Savannah Energy” from the United Kingdom, “Hydrogen of France”, “Amarenco” from France in partnership with the Jordanian company “H2 Global”, the Belgian company “DEME Energy”, and “Abo Energy” from Germany.

These agreements are part of the national strategy for developing green hydrogen and its derivatives, to attract local investments and exploit existing industrial and energy infrastructures in Tunisia by 2050.

This initiative produces 8.3 million tonnes of green hydrogen and its derivatives, of which 2.3 million tonnes are intended for the local market and 6 million tonnes for export, representing a total investment of around 120 billion euros.
